Ambassador of Belarus presents Letters of Credence to President Isaac Herzog
21.04.2025On April 21, 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the State of Israel, Mr. Yury Yaroshevich, presented his letters of credence to the President of the State of Israel, Mr. Isaac Herzog.
Following the official ceremony, a meeting in a limited format was held, during which the Sides discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda.
Ambassador Yaroshevich emphasized the deep historical and spiritual ties between Belarus and Israel, noting that many prominent figures in Jewish history and among the founders of the State of Israel have roots in Belarus.

Special attention was devoted to the long-standing cultural dialogue between the two nations, as well as to the traditions of mutual respect and understanding that have characterized the relationship between their peoples throughout generations.
Ambassador also informed the President of Israel about the restoration of the Volozhin Yeshiva building in Belarus, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Belarus – one of the most significant centers of Jewish religious education, and extended an invitation to a distinguished Israeli delegation to visit this important historical site. The renowned rabbis who studied there left a lasting legacy, which has become an integral part of the history of the Jewish people and world history.
The two Sides exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of political dialogue, the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, and the strengthening of humanitarian ties.
On the eve of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in World War II, Ambassador Yaroshevich extended his congratulations to President Herzog on the forthcoming commemorative milestone. He underscored the importance of preserving historical memory and informed the Israeli Side about the remembrance events planned in the Republic of Belarus and by the Belarusian Embassy in Israel to mark this significant occasion.
