Ambassador E.Vorobyov met with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine

On April 20, on the eve of the Descent of the Holy Fire in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and Orthodox Easter, Ambassador E.Vorobyov met with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine.

The interlocutors exchanged of views on the current position of Christians in the world and in the Middle East, as well as on cooperation between various churches. They agreed on the importance to preserve and strengthen spiritual values that serve as the basis of the worldview of every person.

Separately, the admission of representatives of Belarus to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem was discussed as part of the upcoming ceremony of the Descent of the Holy Fire on Great Saturday, April 23.

Theophilus III also recalled with warmth his visit to Belarus in 2013.
