On the veterans’ award ceremony in Ashdod city

On October 23, 2024 diplomats of the Embassy visited the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, participants of fights for liberation of Belarus, who live in Ashdod city, and congratulated them on the 80th Anniversary of the liberation of our country from the Nazi invaders.

In a solemn atmosphere veteran who have passed the age of 100 years were presented with jubilee medals “80 years of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders”, congratulatory letters on behalf of the President of the Republic of Belarus “soldier’s triangle” and the Belarusian souvenirs.

The war veterans were very pleased with the warm words and congratulations and expressed words of gratitude to the leadership of Belarus for preserving the memory of the war years and personal attention. Many of them recalled the war years and shared stories from the front.

The diplomats were accompanied by representatives of the All-Israeli Union of World War II Veterans – Fighters Against Nazism, who helped to organize this event.
