On the event in memory of the victims of the Minsk ghetto
01.11.2024On October 29, 2024 Evgeny Vorobyev, Ambassador of Belarus to Israel, and the members of the Belarusian Diplomatic Mission took part in a memorial meeting dedicated to the 81st Anniversary of the destruction of the Minsk ghetto.
The event took place in the forest “Yaar Ha Kdushim” near Jerusalem at the Memorial to the 800 000 Jews who died during the Holocaust on the Belarusian territory, which was opened in 2022.
The memorial meeting was organized by the Embassy jointly with the Jewish National Fund (KKL) and the NATIV Organization.
The event was attended by the head of NATIV Alon Shoham, representatives of the KKL Fund and the Chairman of the All-Israeli Association of Natives from Belarus.
In welcoming speech the Ambassador emphasized that Belarus carefully preserves the memory of the Holocaust and the Nazi genocide and does everything to commemorate the people’s feat in the Great Patriotic War.
The event ended with the wreath laying ceremony to the Memorial. In memory of all those who died during the Great Patriotic War and were tortured in fascist dungeons the Jewish memorial prayer “Kaddish” was recited.
