Ambassador of Belarus to Israel Yury Yarashevich Presented Copies of Credentials

On February 13th, 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Yury Yarashevich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus, presented copies of his credentials to Gil Haskel, Chief of State Protocol.

During the meeting, both Sides noted the unique and historically established ties between the Belarusian and Jewish peoples. They emphasized that the deep intertwining of their historical and cultural relations forms a strong foundation for the continued development of bilateral cooperation.

As a gesture of respect for their common historical heritage, Yury Yarashevich presented Gil Haskel with a commemorative postal project marking the 150th Anniversary of Chaim Weizmann, a distinguished native of Belarus and the first President of Israel. This milestone was jointly celebrated by both countries in November 2024.

The meeting also included a substantive exchange of views on the current situation in their respective regions. Both Sides expressed hope for the prompt resolution of ongoing conflicts, the attainment of peace, and the restoration of stability.

Special attention was given to preparations for the upcoming 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Both Sides emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and ensuring that the truth about the events of that era is passed on to future generations.
